Safeguarding

We take our responsibilities in relation to child protection very seriously.  Access to the site is closely monitored. All adults who come into contact with young people have been appropriately checked. Our recruitment procedures follow “safer recruitment” guidelines.  All staff receive regular training and updates on their obligations with regard to child protection and safeguarding. This includes training in areas such as misuse of the internet and social media, child sexual exploitation and the government’s “Prevent” strategy, aimed at stopping young people falling prey to radicalisation.

The school works closely with partner agencies such as Barnado’s, the Police and the Local Authority to ensure young people are kept safe.

The Headteacher is the named individual in charge of child protection. Day to day responsibility for child protection issues rests with the Child Protection Officer, who may be contacted at the school.
